Discovering My Blogger Groove
February 27th, 2008
During the past several days I’ve been doing a lot of reading about blogging. Since I’m new to this, I’m finding posts that are older but new to me. Today I discovered ProBlogger and the Rediscover Your Blogging Groove project, and decided to do it. Now, I’m not rediscovering anything; I’m discovering for the first time.
For this project you are supposed to write a different type of post each day. I hope that I find these “assignments” useful and educational. The homework posts are:
- Write a List Post (which this is)
- Answer a Question
- Write a Review
- Write a Link Post
- Write a Tip Post
- Ask a Question
- Tell a Story
Some of those sound intimidating!
Another post that stood out to me lately was Top 10 Tips for Beginner Bloggers on About.com. To be honest, only the first tip really stuck with me. What are my goals for this blog?
- To further educate myself about the Interior Design industry
- To network, and gain more contacts
- To sharpen my writing and communication skills
- To post something every day
To make a post that often, I’m going to have a good reservoir of post ideas. I should start a list. =)
- AIS review
- Bill 2895/Practice Act Legislation
- Choosing Colors
- “The Importance of Costumes” - parallel to the importance of how we present ourselves
- Having Creative Resumes
- Basics of Business
- Book Reviews
- Article Reviews
Some of these will take me a while to write, so I should get started!
