Old Salem Tavern

Winston Salem, NC

Summary
Would we go there again: Yes

We would go there again, but I'm really not sure when we'll have occasion to. Located in the center of the historic attraction of Old Salem, this restaurant serves food that they think is like what may have been served back when Salem (North Carolina) was, you know, old. It's a nice little atmosphere, and the food is reasonably priced.

Comments & Ratings
Tim's Comments: I enjoyed the food, and we were in a nice quiet room with only two other groups. The whole experience was going quite nicely until the end, during which it inexplicably took our waitress 10-15 minutes to bring us the bill. Who knows what was going on. Of course, considering that "gratuity" is automatically added in, one would think they might not be trying as hard. But I'm still giving her the benefit of the doubt, assuming it was out of her control.

Jeni's Comments: The Old Salem Tavern should be on your "must-do" list of things when you visit Old Salem. It's definitely a dining experience that would be hard to replicate elsewhere. I loved the decor, I really enjoyed the food, and the coffee was good.
